SHEILA KHO TING LING
Since young, Shelia had taken a liking towards art and thus became her hobby. Over time, she eventually pursued a career in banking industry for over 18 years before ultimately deciding to leave and involve herself in teaching. For a period of time, Sheila was an early childhood educator and a college lecturer. In 2010, Sheila made a life-changing decision to pursue her long-time passion: art. She took lessons from various local artists such as Mr. Sim Chiap Hin, Jennifer Chew and David Chew. She then began to extend her art techniques by enrolling herself in a short course at The Art Academy in London, United Kingdom where she furthered her knowledge and skills whilst exposing herself to many different variations of art. Her works are heavily influenced by her frequent travels and inspired by the beauty of Borneo Island – Sarawak. Sheila is a member of Sarawak Artists Society and Urban Sketchers Kuching. She actively participated in many exhibitions namely, Encounter- An Art Exhibitionâ€, Colours of Kuching, 7th International Hornbill Conference 2017, Art for Conservation with Wildlife Conservation Society, Rimba Sarawak Art Exhibition and others.
