Leonard Darimi was born in 1973 at Mukah, Sarawak. He acquired interest and has been passionate about art since young. He dreamt to be a renowned artist representing his beloved Land of Hornbills. Leonard graduated with Degree in Fine Arts at UiTM, Shah Alam and later obtained his Diploma in Education (Fine Arts) at Maktab Perguruan Raja Melewar, Negeri Sembilan. He is currently a secondary school visual arts teacher. His profound interest in arts eventually led him to establish Desa Natok Artist Club in 1993 and Rejang Fine Artist Group in 2012 together with other local artists. He is also a member of Sarawak Artists Society. He has participated in numerous joint exhibitions such as Pameran Bersama Pelukis Desa Natok, Mukah, Pameran Seni Halus “If you don’t know me by now” at Lamin Dana, Mukah, Fine Arts Exhibition at Art Muzium, Kuching, SS Connection Exhibition 2018 at Sabah Art Gallery and Fine Arts Exhibition in conjunction with Simposium Budaya Melanau, to name a few.
